Flickr acquired by Yahoo

Not sure if this is good news or not, but Flickr has announced that they have been purchased by Yahoo. Hopefully this won’t mean many changes in the way Flickr works.

On thing I’m curious about, being a Flickr Pro account holder:

Pro account holders will get super mega bonuses, to be announced soon.

Not to be too jaded, but i’m kind of skeptical of corporate mergers these days. They bang the drums and then meet all of my worst expectations. Here’s hoping they don’t suck.

the “banned thing” probably refers to the comment spam guards I have set up. It tracks IP addresses of people who don’t leave their name, URL, and email address and who include more than 5 links in a given comment. These are characteristic of spam comments. Eventually they get banned.

    More info.
