Unfortunately, it looks like I cannot afford to attend, and my employer won’t cover the costs. If anyone out there has any connections to this event, or otherwise knows of a way to allow me to attend, I would be very grateful. Specifically, I would love to be able to attend any of the following classes:
1.) Content Management for Websites and Intranets
Martin White, Intranet Focus - Tuesday, October 25, 2005
In this tutorial, attendees will learn how to take a CMS from inception to delivery. We’ll discuss CMS pitfalls and how to avoid them, CMS technology options, product selection tips, and overall CMS best practices, and focus especially on identifying and meeting user requirements, and how to deliver a CMS on budget, and on time.
2.) Fundamental Guidelines for Web Usability
Jakob Nielsen & Hoa Loranger, Nielsen Norman Group - Wednesday, October 26, 2005
Which of the more than 1,200 documented Web usability guidelines are most important? This tutorial focuses on the key insights into people’s website behavior and on the resulting top guidelines for making your website easier and more enjoyable to use.
Understanding these general principles will help you think through design problems, as well as analyze usability challenges specific to your own project.
3.) Planning and Managing a Usable Intranet
Kara Pernice Coyne & Amy Schade, Nielsen Norman Group - Thursday, October 27, 2005
This course covers managerial aspects of intranet design and considerations for how to best plan an intranet. We will provide guidelines for and examples of design elements that are important for any intranet
4.) Intranet Usability Essentials
