site update: redesign in progress

I’ve been doing some serious housecleaning here at this site over the past few months, including:

cleaning up and organizing files on this server
designing my own full featured Wordpress template (what you see now, dubbed BlueTabbed)
scrubbing and optimizing a very messy mySQL database

Still left to do:

fix categories on this blog! Two years of messing around with categories as tags and installing plugin after plugin has left mysql a mess. Categories aren’t working right at the moment, so I need to re-file away roughly 1000 posts at some point.
make this theme XHTML & CSS compliant
re-write “about” section and add some more tabs up top
test RSS feeds
move this blog back to the trainque.com domain. I’m not loving m.iscellaneo.us
